Abundant Life has invited us to partner with them in providing a weekend VBS in their community.  Families and youth will interact with children, share their faith through Bible stories, games and singing, and partner with Abundant Life's members to make this event a positive gospel experience for their neighborhood.  And, if you speak Spanish, we need YOU!

Contact Paula Weiss if you are interested.

Last year, nearly 30 folks from Messiah came together as a team and partnered with Abundant Life Lutheran Church the weekend of July 13-15. Families from Messiah taught VBS lessons, led games and crafts besides supporting service projects on Saturday afternoon.

There were about 25 children involved in VBS and several women stayed on Saturday for an adult Bible Study that Stacy McGhehey led. What a joy it was to help this congregation in their mission!

Pastor Wally Shifflet had this to say -- "The VBS/service project was a real blessing to Abundant Life. I am all for doing this again next year. The mission-mindedness of Messiah folk was more than I could ever expect....I was pleased with the energy that the group brought to the event; the individual care that they showed to the kids; the flexibility to go with the flow; the food that was served, the music (as Promise-d) that was played, the wonderful new storage buildings that have been erected, the clean carpets, and other deep cleaning. But most of all, I was please that the people of God were busy doing the mission that God has given to each of us in this region. The kids will not soon forget it, nor will those (big and small) who worshipped with us on Sunday."
