MESSIAH'S MESSENGERS Rehearse Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30.

This awesome group of young singers lift us in worship at various times throughout the year in both the 8:30 and 11:00 worship services. They also provide a Christmas musical and take advantage of opportunities to go into the community. In rehearsal, they will learn Bible stories correlating to the songs they are preparing, basic music reading skills, will begin to sing in parts, and incorporate movement into some of their songs. Handchimes, boomwhackers, rhythms instruments and musical games are also utilized.

All you have to do is be a kid to join.

From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise . . .
Psalm 8:2

. . . and Messiah's children's choir (Messiah's Messengers) sang their hearts out for the Grandpas and Grandmas at Plantation Estates, Special Care Unit.

For our children, many whose grandparents live far away, it was a real treat to sing for their "adopted-for-a-day" grandparents and the residents expressed the same sentiment - it was a real treat to have our kids sing to them.  They sang the songs they have been singing throughout this past year - Jesus, I will Magnify You, Your Faithfulness, Sing Unto the Lord, The Perfect Ten and others.  Great messages to sing, great messages to hear.  And, there were some wonderful moments for greetings and hugs after the music.

Thanks to our kids; thanks to the parents who helped out with the pizza dinner and transportation; thanks to God for the many opportunities we have to serve and be ambassadors.

Donna Peterson, Director of Music Ministries. peterson_sm.jpg

Born and raised in the land of dreams (Iowa, that is) as a United Methodist preacher's kid, I learned early on how wonderful it is to know and serve the Lord. Since receiving my degree in music, I have had the opportunity to serve continuously as a part-time and/or full-time church musician in Methodist, Lutheran, and Presbyterian churches in New Mexico, Ohio and North Carolina.
