Our building is feeling the bulge of growth!!  So is this good news or bad news?

It's GREAT NEWS!

God is granting us the privilege of growing our family.  We are sharing the gospel right here in our community, offering nurture and growth in God's Word.  We are empowering a group to "shift their focus" and begin a mission church in Weddington that will reach many new people with the gospel.  WE ARE GROWING!

The present building is at maximum use.  Although you may feel comfortable on Sunday morning (you may come early and find your spot), it's becoming difficult and uncomfortable for visitors to find a spot, especially if they come in right on time.  And after early worship, during our Sunday School hour - we have 4 adult classes meeting AND more that would like to meet but we have no room!  Sunday School children max out our rooms as they grow in the Word.  It's GREAT NEWS!

The present building is at maximum use!  Even during the week we struggle to find enough spaces (and appropriate spaces) for our programming.  Storage space is maxed out - GREAT NEWS!

Why is it GREAT NEWS?!!?  Through the new building, we will soon be able to grow the family of Messiah while continuing to reach out to the community around us.  We will be able to partner with others in hosting mission teams or sponsoring a community father-daughter dinner.  We will be able to offer women's events that involve more than 50 or 60 people and we can sponsor youth programming that will reach into families!  And there's so much more . . .

This is an exciting time for Messiah and I must say that my prayer has been that God will use the present and future staff to nurture and grow the family.  He is answering!  I believe God is calling us as a congregation to GROW as we LOOK UP and receive God's grace; I believe God is calling us as a congregation to GROW as we LOOK AROUND and support each other in study and service; and I believe God is calling us to GROW as we LOOK OUTWARD to a living testimony for HIM by sharing His love with others.

Growing because of Him,

Paul Weiss
