Teens Encounter Christ! PDF Print E-mail

9th - 12th Grades . . . August 30 - September 1 is your next opportunity!!

On January 19-21, the temps were cold, the wind blew, but we were WARM in Jesus love and fellowship!  Eight youth from Messiah participated and had this to say:

"I want to go back sometime soon!"

"They took my cell phone!!!"

"It was awesome."

"It was hard not being 'in control' or knowing the schedule, but got used to it."

"I wasn't sure at first but I really liked it."

 "I'd do this again."

"We had a blast."

"My mom made me go and I was NOT happy, until I got there and loved it!"

SHARING THE LOVE OF CHRIST WITH YOUTH AND

HELPING EACH OF US TO GROW IN OUR FAITH

AS WE SERVE AND REACH TO OTHERS

Life comes at you fast...are you ready? We want to build you up in your faith to be able to meet each day as it comes-whatever it might bring. God's message of mercy and grace is one for YOUR life!

It's also our goal to engage every youth at Messiah in ministry-by growing, serving and witnessing.

High School Bible Study: (We take a summer break)friends_reading.jpg
Join us every Sunday morning from 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. in the Dennis Karas Education building (Youth Room) for great conversations and intense topics! We are currently using "FUEL" to "fire us up" as we grow in our faith!

Wednesday Night Study:
A more relaxed way to study God's Word and enjoy your peers! This is a class that gives you that mid-week connection. September through April, we'll see you in the Youth Room on Wednesday evenings after the Family Meal (held in the Fellowship Hall at 5:30).

Families in Faith Formation:
6th, 7th and 8th grades meet each Wednesday evening, September through April, at 6:30 p.m. following the Family Meal. Pastor Tim, Jenny Long and Paula Weiss. Our focus is to grow in the Word, grow in our relationships, and serve others in this program.

Youth Retreats-- 6th - 8th graders have at least 2 retreats each year (fall and spring). This is a great time to make friends and have fun in Jesus!

VBX-Vacation Bible EXTREME for grades 6th - 8th each summer. Experience your faith through daily service projects and activities that bring our Bible truths to life! (scheduled in conjunction with VBS).

Service Opportunities-
All of Messiah's youth are encouraged to live out their faith in service! Messiah programs that welcome our youth's service include: acolyting, ushering, orchestra, youth praise team, VBS, Sunday School and helping out with special activities.

Outside projects have been: Operation Christmas Child, Strong Arm Mission (inner city missions), the McDowell project, and outreach efforts to Messiah Preschool families with family devotion packets.

Mission Opportunities-We want to help the youth at Messiah grow, serve and WITNESS their faith. The McDowell project began some of this growth. ..and then the Peru mission trip in 2005 and in 2006 the Katrina Mission!

Projects are being developed for 2007 and 2008! Let's grow and then share with others the good news of Jesus.
