Power in Hearing...

"I don't know what that New Testament has, but the first day that I played it [audio tape] in the church, a whole family accepted Christ. I believe it is because the Bible itself says that the Word of God has power. Since then, wherever I go, the New Testament in Kekchi goes with me. Almost in every new place that I play it, several people accept Christ--the most beautiful of all is that it is in our own language." (quote from a Kekchi pastor in South America)

Wycliffe Bible Translators is committed to providing access to Scriptures for everyone in the language they understand best. The printed Word alone cannot communicate to the millions around the world (50% of women and 30% of men) who are oral communicators. Vernacular Media Services (VMS) help translators and national people to plan, develop and produce audio and visual Scripture materials in local languages. These media materials are essential for evangelism and spiritual growth.

Nyla Nelson, Wycliffe member since 1986, is the VMS Liaison to the South Pacific area. This involves offering training and media consulting services for Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, and other smaller Pacific islands.
