Sample ImagePastor Steve was born and raised in Oregon. After graduating from Willamette University with degrees in German and International Studies, he worked in various vocations that taught him how to work in teams with diverse people. As a project manager in the computer tech industry in the 90ís, he began to feel Godís call to become a pastor. In 2003, he took a huge leap of faith, selling his business and two homes to drive to Saint Louis for the first time and begin Seminary training.

In 2007, he married Myra Huffman from the Harrisonburg, VA area. He also began vicarage at Lutheran Church of the Risen Savior in Green Valley, AZ, with the intention of starting a new congregation in the growing nearby town of Sahuarita. By Godís leading and the efforts of many faithful people, this church plant was chartered and purchased the building and grounds of a former Christian school in 2011.

In March 2017, Pastor Steve accepted a Call from Messiah to serve as the Senior Pastor.† He was installed and he and his family were welcomed into our community at a special installation service on March 26th.††

Pastor Steve enjoys bicycling, gardening, camping and watching movies with Myra and their two girls. Big breakfast on Saturday is also a big hit in their house.
